Gretchen Thiel is a dedicated professional with extensive experience in behavioral support and aquatic instruction. Currently serving as a Registered Behavior Technician and Direct Support Professional at Glenwood since April 2021, Gretchen also plans to independently teach swimming to children with autism in a swimspa, recognizing the critical need for drowning prevention in this population. Previous roles include Residential Activity Coordinator at the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind, Swim Instructor at Saint Vincent's 119 Spa and YMCA of South Alabama, and Lifeguard at Lakeshore Foundation. With a Bachelor of Arts in Human Services from the University of South Alabama and a Certificate as a Registered Behavior Technician from Relias, Gretchen has a strong foundation in supporting individuals with disabilities. Additionally, experience at L'Arche USA involved fostering connections with friends who have intellectual disabilities.
