Dan Walker

Dan Walker is the current Chief Operating Officer at GLI Finance. Prior to this, they were the Head of London Office at Varengold Bank AG from September 2015 to December 2017. In this role, they were responsible for managing the London team and overseeing the deployment of capital into receivables, real estate backed financing and other asset classes.

Before their time at Varengold Bank AG, Dan Walker was with Lloyds Banking Group from April 2005 to September 2015 where they held the title of Director, Strategic Transactions Group. In this role, they were responsible for structuring, negotiating and executing a range of structured finance transactions with major financial institutions, involving the analysis of the credit, legal, regulatory, accounting and tax aspects.

In addition, they provided a corporate finance advisory and execution capability within the bank in connection with disposals of significant non-core asset portfolios, undertaking structured credit de-risking exercises and other strategic transactions with its insurance division and group pension schemes. Dan also provided a client-solutions offering to corporate and FI clients in order to address their key objectives with respect to funding, ratings, capital, pensions, risk-mitigation or other goals.

Dan Walker graduated from the University of Oxford with a degree in Jurisprudence, and then went on to complete all three levels of the Chartered Financial Analyst examinations at Chartered Financial Analyst examinations. Dan then completed the Legal Practice Course at Nottingham Law School, before finally completing their A-Levels at Havering Sixth Form College.

They are on a team with and Emma Stubbs - Chief Financial Officer. Dan Walker reports to Andrew Whelan, Chief Executive Officer.
