Max Batres

Max Batres is a seasoned engineer with extensive experience in device development and semiconductor technology. Currently serving as a Staff Device Engineer at Glo-USA since September 2017, Max focuses on MicroLED development. Prior roles include contributions as a Member Of Technical Staff at PARC, where work on UV-C AlN based emitters significantly advanced the DARPA LUSTER program. As a Sr. Scientist at Soraa, Inc., Max achieved state-of-the-art contact resistance for nGaN and pGaN devices. Additional experience includes pioneering substrate-free LED chip design at Cree and enhancing LED chip processing at Illumitex. Max's career began with engineering roles at Motorola Semiconductor and Intel Corporation and includes international research experience at Nippon Steel. Max holds an MS in Materials Science from UC Santa Barbara and a BS from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
