Georges Fauriol

Georges Fauriol is a seasoned expert in international relations and governance, currently serving as a Senior Advisor at the U.S. Institute of Peace since November 2023. Fauriol is also a Fellow at the Caribbean Policy Consortium and Global Americans, both roles beginning in 2021. Previously, Fauriol held the position of Senior Associate at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) from October 2001 and served as Adjunct Faculty in the Democracy & Governance Program at Georgetown University from September 2015 to September 2021. From February 2010 to January 2020, Fauriol was Vice President for Programs at the National Endowment for Democracy, and prior to that, Fauriol was a Senior Vice President at the International Republican Institute from October 2001 to January 2010. Fauriol's extensive career at CSIS began in 1977, culminating in the role of Director/Senior Fellow for the Americas Program. Fauriol holds an MA and Ph.D. in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania and a BA in Government and Economics from Ohio University.
