Shane Downey

Shane Downey has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Shane began their career in 1988 as a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps, serving until 1992.

After their military service, Shane worked as a Legislative Assistant/Campaign Manager for Representative Bob Ney from 1995 to 1997. Following this role, they joined the Associated Builders and Contractors as a Lobbyist, where they successfully organized political and educational seminars for Midwest ABC chapters and achieved their PAC fundraising goals.

In 2001, Shane became the Director of Government Affairs for the National Tooling and Machining Association, a position they held until 2003.

From 2006 onwards, they made significant contributions to the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA), first as a Manager of Government Relations and then as the Director of Public Policy. In these roles, Shane played a crucial role in shaping GBTA's Government Affairs strategies in the US and Europe.

In 2018, Shane started their own venture, Star Dog Champion LLC, where they worked as a Principle.

Overall, Shane Downey has gained extensive experience in government relations and policy-making, demonstrating their ability to lead and make a positive impact in various organizations.

Shane Downey completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in History at The Ohio State University from 1990 to 1995. Prior to that, they attended Patrick Henry High School from 1986 to 1988.
