Umakanta Sahoo

Having more than 20 years of experience managing full-service operations in Asian countries for global CROs, Dr. Sahoo is responsible for country management and business development within India at GCT. He is in charge of, Global Data Management, Biostatistics, and Medical Writing services.

Dr. Sahoo has been at the roots of clinical trial industry development in India, beginning his carrier in the early 90s. He has worked at Quintiles as a Project Manager before he was invited to establish and head the operations of Chiltern CRO in India and Asia Pacific. He later switched to the Data Management side of the industry as a Director at Cytel.

He received his Bachelor’s in Bio-Science from Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology, his PhD from the Sardar Patel University, and MBA from Institute of Rural Management.
