Amelia Dearman currently serves as the Senior Advocacy Manager for the CHAMP program within the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy, having begun this role in August 2024. Prior to this, Amelia was a Churchill Fellow in 2023, focusing on strategies to prepare the UK for extreme heat exacerbated by the climate crisis. From September 2016 to August 2024, Amelia held various positions at Wellcome Trust, culminating in the role of Government Relations Senior Adviser, overseeing initiatives across the Americas and Wellcome's participation at the UN General Assembly. Earlier roles at Wellcome included coordinating the inaugural COP delegation and participating in COVID-19 resource mobilization efforts. Amelia began their career with a Science Policy internship at The Royal Society and experience at Cancer Research UK. Amelia holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Microbiology from The University of Sheffield.
