Karen Schroh has a diverse and extensive work experience. Karen has worked as an Acting Director of Fundraising and Operations, Head of Donor Relations, and EU Representative for the Global Partnership for Education since 2013. Prior to that, they were the Head of EU Office and Senior Advocacy Manager at Plan International from 2003 to 2013. Karen has also held leadership roles at Beyond 2015, Action for Global Health, and CONCORD Europe. Karen started their career as a Foreign Service Officer focused on development at the Government of Canada.
Karen Schroh attended Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) from 1996 to 1998, where they obtained a Master of International Affairs (MIA) degree with a focus on Economic and Political Development. Prior to that, they studied at the University of Toronto - University of Trinity College from 1991 to 1995. Karen earned a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree, majoring in African Studies, History, and English. Karen Schroh's education also includes an additional certification, the Plan Certificate in Management, which was obtained from Plan International and Harvard Business School.
