María José Olavarría Pérez

María José Olavarría Pérez has a diverse work experience spanning various organizations. María José worked at the Global Partnership for Education as the Head of Governance and also served as a Board Operations Officer. Prior to this, they were the Director at Rights and Resources Initiative. María had also worked as a Consultant at The World Bank and as a Coordination and Communications Officer at UN-Habitat (United Nations Human Settlements Programme).

María José Olavarría Pérez began their education in 1994 at College Stanislas, where they pursued a French Baccalaureat in Literature and Languages (A2). María José completed their degree in 1997. From 1995 to 1997, they also studied Hispanic and Latin American Studies at Université de Montréal, completing their Majeur degree. María then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from McGill University, which they completed from 1998 to 2000. Later, they continued their education at McGill University and obtained a Master of Arts in Anthropology from 2000 to 2003. Lastly, in 2012, María José enrolled at Université Laval to pursue a Certificate in Law, and their studies in this field extended beyond the specified time frame.
