Melissa Wilson is an experienced professional specializing in the intersection of sport and climate advocacy. Currently serving as the Sport & Climate Lead at the Global Strategic Communications Council since July 2023, Melissa focuses on leveraging the influence of sports to promote climate engagement, particularly addressing issues such as fossil fuel sponsorship and climate impacts on athletics. As a Co-Founder and Director of Athletes of the World, Melissa collaborates with athletes and sports organizations to develop impactful climate campaigns and provide educational resources. Melissa's extensive background in competitive rowing includes representing the GB Rowing Team at the Tokyo Olympic Games and achieving multiple accolades at international events. Additionally, Melissa has a solid foundation in legal research related to climate action, having worked with organizations like The Good Law Project and Plan B Earth. Melissa holds degrees in Business Sustainability Management and Affiliated Law from the University of Cambridge.
