Peter Knapp

Peter joined Global Switch in 2018 as Group Director, Europe bringing with him 28 years’ experience in the ICT industry, the majority of which was in the data centre sector.

Prior to joining Global Switch, Peter was Managing Director of the German business of a leading European data centre provider which he successfully built up to be the largest entity with the highest growth amongst the group. He also worked for a number of technology companies, including most recently as Global Chief Digital Officer & Executive Vice President Infrastructure of Samson AG, and also for Kana Software, Oracle and Cambridge Technology Partners. Peter has a MBA in Business Administration from the University of Frankfurt.

In his role as Group Director, Europe, Peter leads the Managing Directors of the continental European data centres (Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Madrid and Paris) in building and maintaining strong customer relationships, generating new business and ensuring the successful delivery of the sites’ business plans including expansion plans and new developments. Peter also oversees a programme of continuous improvement across the continental European data centres, ensuring that best practice is shared across key operational areas such as customer services, critical environments and connectivity.
