Jesús Romo has extensive work experience in the telecommunications industry. Jesús currently holds the role of Principal Analyst - Telecoms Market Data & Intelligence at GlobalData Plc since October 2022. Prior to that, Jesús worked at Telconomia as a Consultant and Independent Analyst of Telecommunications, ICT, and Media from May 2014 to October 2022. Jesús also worked as a Coordinator of Media and Marketing at Lexium from August 2013 to May 2014. Furthermore, Jesús gained experience as an Assistant Researcher at EGAP, where they worked on projects analyzing media coverage and its impact on democratic processes and institutions. Jesús also focused on digital convergence and telecom reform in Mexico for their thesis project. Jesús began their career as a Journalist in various roles such as Local Reporter at Grupo Reforma and Soft News Writer at Grupo Milenio. Jesús also completed an internship at Grupo Reforma's El Norte newspaper, where they participated in the coverage of the 2009 elections. Jesús started their professional journey as a Radio Host at Frecuencia Tec, a university station at Tec de Monterrey, where they hosted the music program "Blues en las rocas" for nine years.
Jesús Romo earned a Master's degree in Political Analysis and Media Information from EGAP-ITESM in 2013. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Media Information from Tecnológico de Monterrey in 2009. In addition to their formal education, Jesús Romo has also obtained several certifications, including a Diploma in Applied Statistics from UANL in 2019, and certifications in American Law, Public Policy Analysis, and Media Studies from Coursera in 2015 and 2014.
