Dimitar Popchev

Dimitar Popchev has a diverse work experience, starting with their current position as the Lead Software Engineer at GlobalFoundries since March 2022. Prior to that, they were a Senior Software Engineer at GlobalFoundries from May 2020 to March 2022. In addition, Dimitar worked as a Mathematician at the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences since November 2021. Dimitar also briefly served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy (UACEG) from February 2021 to May 2021.

Before joining GlobalFoundries, they worked as a Medior Software Developer at Strypes from February 2019 to May 2020. Prior to that, Dimitar gained experience as a Junior Final Test Engineer at Smartcom Bulgaria AD from November 2017 to January 2019. Dimitar also worked as a Software Developer at CST EOOD from June 2017 to September 2017. In addition, they have teaching experience as a Mathematics Teacher at the American College Council from February 2017 to May 2017, and as a Physics Teacher at Darbi College from September 2013 to May 2017.

Dimitar's early professional experience includes working as a Technician at the Institute of Solid State Physics, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences from October 2010 to July 2012.

Dimitar Popchev holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics from Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, which they obtained from 2016 to 2019. Prior to their Ph.D., they completed their Master's degree in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics from the same university between 2013 and 2015. Dimitar also has a Bachelor's degree in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics from Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, which they earned from 2009 to 2013. In addition to their academic qualifications, Dimitar has obtained certifications in Python (Basic) and SQL (Basic) from HackerRank in 2021. Dimitar has also completed courses in Learning Regular Expressions and Perl 5 Essential Training from LinkedIn in 2020.
