Established in 1873 Gloucester is one of the oldest rugby clubs in the world. Its local importance extends well beyond the city: it is a focal point for over 60 clubs in the Gloucestershire area; its ground was once home to the England squad; today its high-performing team is recognised internationally and an average of 15,000 supporters regularly attend Kingsholm to watch the team perform in Premiership and European Cup Competitions.
