Geert Van Gils has a diverse work experience spanning over 16 years. Geert started their career in 2005 at Johnson & Johnson, where they held various roles including Manager Foreign Exchange and Marketing Controller. Geert then became the Finance Director for Janssen Cilag Mid Sized Markets. In 2011, they joined The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson, where they served as the National Sales Manager Oncology and later as the Franchise Manager Oncology/Hematology. In 2014, they took on the role of Head Commercial Strategy Hematology Benelux, responsible for strategy, marketing, sales, and product launch. From 2017 to 2019, Geert served as the EMEA Commercial Strategy Director Rheumatology. In 2019, they joined Galapagos, where they held various roles, including Sr Director Global Marketing IBD, International Commercial Head Marketing, and currently, VP, Head Global Commercial Strategy. Throughout their career, Geert has demonstrated expertise in commercial strategy, marketing, sales, and product launch, with a focus on the pharmaceutical industry.
Geert Van Gils earned a Master's degree in Applied Economics from the University of Antwerp from 1994 to 1999. Geert also completed a Middle Management Consortium in General Management at Vlerick Business School in 2005 and 2006.
