Matthias Heemskerk

Matthias Heemskerk is a seasoned professional in the field of analytical development for cell therapy, currently serving as the Head of Analytical Development Cell Therapy and Director at Galapagos since November 2023. Matthias has an extensive background in building and leading analytical development teams across various organizations, including previous roles at CellPoint from August 2020 to October 2023, where contributions included significant leadership and subject matter expertise in IMPD/IND authoring. Prior experience also includes positions ranging from Scientist to Principal Scientist at CellPoint, focusing on the analytical development pipeline and research activities. Matthias' academic foundation includes a PhD from Leiden University Medical Center, complemented by a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Life Science & Technology from Leiden University and Delft University of Technology.
