Dhaval Desai

Dhaval Desai has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple industries and roles. In their current position as a Community Manager for the Janssen Project at Gluu, Inc., they are responsible for managing the community and executing project-related tasks. Prior to this, they held a similar role as a Community Manager at the Janssen Project itself.

Before joining Gluu, Inc., Dhaval worked as a Technology Lead - Enterprise Applications at iFour Technolab Pvt. Ltd., where they were involved in leading and managing enterprise application projects.

Their most significant and longest tenure was at Citi, where they started as an Assistant Vice President and later became the Vice President of Software Development. In this role, Dhaval was responsible for overseeing architecture, design, and complete release cycles. Dhaval led the development and implementation of major workflow systems in the Risk and Controls domain, utilized microservice and domain-driven design paradigms, and successfully migrated applications to on-premise cloud infrastructure. Additionally, Dhaval played a crucial role in influencing technology decisions and building engineering teams.

Earlier in their career, Dhaval worked as a Module Lead at Avaya, where they were involved in designing and developing distributed data collection and centralized data processing modules. Dhaval also served as a Scrum Master and participated in product roadmap discussions. During their tenure at Avaya, Dhaval showcased their innovation skills by filing for seven US patents, five of which were granted. Dhaval initially joined Avaya as a Software Engineer and enhanced their enterprise real-time message processing system.

Prior to Avaya, Dhaval worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Patni Computer Services, where they gained experience in software development.

Dhaval Desai completed their Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Information Technology from Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University, which they attended from 2000 to 2004. In addition to their degree, Dhaval has obtained several certifications throughout their career. Dhaval became a Sun Certified Java Programmer (SCJP) in February 2007 and an Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate in April 2006. Dhaval also holds the Scrum Master Certified (SMC) certification from the Scrum Alliance, obtained in May 2011. More recently, they achieved the SAFe Agilist Certification from Scaled Agile, Inc. in February 2020, and the Certified SAFe® 5 Agilist certification in March 2020.
