Taylor Carlson

Taylor Carlson has worked in various roles since 2009. In 2009, they worked as a CRLA Certified Tutor at the University of Nebraska at Kearney and as an Undergraduate Researcher in Advanced Analytical Chemistry Techniques and Advanced Organic Chemistry Techniques. In 2010, they worked as an International Research Intern at Peking University. In 2011, they worked as a Research Intern at the University of Iowa. From 2012 to 2020, they worked at Northeastern University as a Graduate Research Assistant and Project Manager, where they initiated and built strong relationships to increase scientific and clinical knowledge of mucus barrier defenses, provided coordination, experimental planning, regulatory approval, implementation of projects, and presentation of data, resulting in a $400K grant. They also established alterations in the mucus barrier function in two inflammatory intestinal disease states and tested potential therapeutic interventions, which were presented in 2 first-author papers and 3 presentations at national scientific conferences. Additionally, they hired, trained, and supervised a team of 8 undergraduate and graduate students, whose results were published in 2 papers. In 2020, they began working as a Research Scientist at Glyscend Incorporated.

Taylor Carlson received a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Chemistry with a minor in Physics from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 2012. Taylor then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Chemical Engineering from Northeastern University, which they completed in 2018. Taylor also holds a certification in Basic Cell Culture from Northeastern University.
