VP & Associate Media Director at GMMB

Julie Keane is currently a Media Supervisor at GMMB, a position they have held since August 2016. Prior to that, they served as Senior Media Buyer/Planner at GMMB from October 2011 to August 2016. During their time there, they managed a motivational speaker tour for Verizon Wireless with professional skateboarder Andy Macdonald, which toured 80 schools across 15 markets and reached over 65,000 students. Julie also developed the curriculum and oversaw the day-to-day management of the Distracted Driving Demonstration, an integral component of the renowned teen safety program, Toyota Driving Expectations Tour.

In addition to their work at GMMB, Keane has also worked as a Media Director at Smart Media Group, LLC from October 2011 to August 2016. During their time there, they directed the brand image creation for a world premiere aviation exhibition in Fort Worth, TX, Ascent…When Dreams Defy Gravity, and collaborated with client departments and/or other agencies to streamline branding and messaging. Julie also managed and allocated marketing budgets and provided the link between the clients and collaborating teams and vendors.

Some of Keane’s notable achievements include developing and executing a comprehensive advertising strategy for the controversial Body Worlds exhibition in an extremely conservative market, Salt Lake City, UT. The four-month engagement exceeded attendance goals by 18%, drawing nearly 300,000 visitors. Additionally, they planned and negotiated an integrated media and promotional plan to optimize a limited budget in an expensive media market, Washington D.C. for the Joint Services Open House at Andrews Air Force Base. The air show saw an increase in spectators of 31% over the previous year’s attendance.

Keane has worked with a variety of clients over the course of their career, including Toyota, Verizon Wireless, Body Worlds, Mummies of the World, Vatican Splendors, Big Apple Circus, Feld Entertainment, Fort Worth Air & Space Museum, Boston Ballet, The Leonardo, Tampa Museum, and US Air Force.

Julie Keane has a MFA from Emerson College in Media Arts and a BA from Boston College in Communications.
