Het ontstaan van Go Ahead Eagles vindt plaats in het begin van de 20e eeuw. In 1902 wordt voetbalclub Be Quick opgericht. De Deventerse voetbalvereniging treedt toe tot de Apeldoornse bond en speelt haar wedstrijden op de accommodatie van U.D. (nu Koninklijke U.D.). In 1904 treedt Be Quick toe tot de Zutphense bond.
