Robert Shorten is a prominent academic and industry leader with extensive experience in cyber-physical systems, control engineering, and artificial intelligence. Currently a member of the advisory board at Energie Innovationszentrum Cottbus (EIZ) and a co-founder of Go Eve, Shorten also serves as a professor at Imperial College London. Previously, Shorten held the position of Chair of the Board of Directors at Future Mobility Campus Ireland and has taught at University College Dublin and Maynooth University, where Robert co-founded the Hamilton Institute. Shorten's research career began at Daimler AG, where significant contributions to AI were made. Additional roles include a visiting professorship at Technische Universität Berlin and research management at IBM.
