David Platt is a shareholder in the Green Bay and Appleton offices of Godfrey & Kahn and is a member of both the Corporate Law and Real Estate Practice Groups.
As a member of the Corporate Law Practice Group, David advises clients from a variety of industries. His experience includes mergers and acquisitions and drafting commercial contracts, such as supply, distribution, license, contractor, employment, non-competition and confidentiality arrangements. David's corporate practice also focuses on general organizational and operational matters, including entity formation and governance. He regularly represents closely-held and family-owned businesses.
As a member of the Real Estate Practice Group, David represents clients in the acquisition, development, and sale of office, industrial, retail and other commercial real estate. His experience includes negotiating and drafting purchase and sale agreements, development agreements, easements and restrictive covenants, reviewing and resolving title and survey issues, and annexing property. David also regularly represents landlords and tenants in the negotiation of commercial leases for a broad range of applications, including office, warehousing, manufacturing and retail uses. In addition, David represents the exclusive Wisconsin developer of new construction retail properties for a Fortune 500 company. In such capacity, David has assisted his client in the acquisition and development of over 40 retail properties, as well as the subsequent sale of such properties to buyers, including large real estate investment trusts, located throughout the United States.
