Richard Ward

Richard Ward is currently working as an Engineer at GoGoGrandparent since 2022.

Prior to that, they worked at Direct Line Group as a Principle Software Engineer from July 2021 to September 2022. In this role, they were responsible for selecting the technical direction and architecture of the product, assisting the team lead, mentoring junior developers, and supporting the product owner.

Richard also held the position of Senior Software Engineer at Kontor from March 2020 to July 2021, where they played a key role in deciding the direction and implementation of the Kontor platform.

From July 2019 to February 2020, Richard worked at Brolly as a Product Engineer. Here, they were involved in developing the backend and phone functionality for the contents insurance product, architecting and implementing solutions for the API backend and react-native phone application.

Before that, they were a Software Engineer at Kurtosys Systems from May 2017 to June 2019. In addition to developing the company's core product, they also managed employees, provided mentorship, and followed Scrum and Agile methodologies.

Richard has also served as the Founder of FORWARD from June 2015 to May 2017 and as a Co-Owner/Developer at OUTsrc from June 2013 to May 2015. During this time, they developed web applications, including a Bitcoin Exchange, and managed client-based projects.

At quickOnline, Richard worked as a Web Developer from May 2012 to June 2013.

Richard'searly experience includes working as a Developer at XOIP from November 2006 to May 2012, where they were responsible for full-stack development and server administration.

Richard's career began at Cape Technikon as a Programmer, where they started as an assistant Unix administrator and later developed the student portal using PHP. Richard worked at Cape Technikon from 2001 to 2005.

Richard Ward completed their education at Cape Peninsula University of Technology from 1996 to 1998, where they obtained a National Diploma in Information Technology. Prior to attending university, Richard attended Table View High School until 1995, although information about a specific degree or field of study is not available.
