David K. Tan

David K. Tan has worked in the tech industry since 2019. David K. began their career as a Software Engineer at Valdosta State University, where they worked with MySQL, Laravel, PHP, JavaScript, and Oracle database. During this time, they converted an interactive campus map module built from Google Maps to use LeafletJS and OpenStreetMap, as well as implemented a counselor module which helped students identify their counselors based on degree and department information.

In 2021, Tan joined Google as a Research Software Engineer in the 2021B cohort of the Google CS Research Mentorship Program (CSRMP). During their time at Google, they created a blockchain using JavaScript and implemented a "Proof-of-Work" in this project.

Also in 2021, Tan joined Greentree Capital Finance and Accounting as a Cloud Engineer. During their time there, they worked with Python, AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes, monitored and tested cloud infrastructure, and proactively mitigated potential incidents before service degradation occurred.

In 2022, Tan joined ECG, Inc. as a Network Engineer. During their time there, they worked with software tools such as Wireshark, Unix commands, Salesforce, AWS workspace, and JIRA, and became familiar with TCP 3-way handshake, Network, Subnet, Ports, and the TCP/OSI model. David K. also helped over 200+ clients set up their hardware and software systems.

Finally, in 2022, Tan joined GoGoMeds as an Account Executive. During this time, they communicated with over 100+ clients and gathered information on project scope, business model, and timelines. David K. also met with other executives to discuss clients' project goals, progress, and outcomes, and developed goals to improve the client list for the company.

David K. Tan has a diverse education history. David K. holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology, a Master of Business Administration - MBA in Data Analytics from Louisiana State University, a Bachelor of Science - BS in Computer Science with a Minor in Statistics from Valdosta State University, and a Bachelor of Arts - BA in International Relations and National Security Studies from The University of Georgia. David K. also attended a Bootcamp in Tech Sales from CourseCareers. Additionally, they have obtained a number of certifications, including Learning Kubernetes from LinkedIn, Meta Back-End Developer Professional Certificate and Meta Front-End Developer Professional Certificate from Meta, National Cyber Competition 2022 from Cyber Skyline, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon, Google Project Management: Professional and Google Cloud Digital Leader Certification from Google, Security+ Certification from CompTIA, Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) from GoGoMeds, Cisco Certified Network Associate from Cisco, and Lean Six Sigma White Belt Certification from Six Sigma Society.
