Luiz Borrego

Luiz Borrego has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Luiz currently serves as the CIO at GOL Linhas Aéreas since 2021. Prior to that, from 2015 to 2021, they worked at Smiles as a CIO and Innovation leader, responsible for areas such as development, infrastructure, cyber security, operations, and innovation. In addition, they held the position of IT Manager at Smiles and was responsible for managing IT projects and solutions.

Before their tenure at Smiles, Luiz Borrego worked as a teacher at Universidade Mogi das Cruzes for a period of 17 years from 2003 to 2020. Luiz also held significant positions at Redecard, where they worked as a Program Manager, overseeing the implementation of strategic solutions and managing various internal and external teams related to IT.

Furthermore, Luiz Borrego served as a Software Factory Manager at Politec, where they managed the financial results and portfolio of software projects. Luiz successfully led large teams for the development of national and international projects for clients such as Caixa Econômica Federal, Banco Santander Banespa, and Mc Donalds.

Before joining Politec, they worked as a Project Leader and Requirements Analyst at BS Consulting and SESIS – Software Engineering Systems and Internet Solutions, respectively. In these roles, they were responsible for leading projects and analyzing requirements for software development.

Luiz Borrego began their career as a Trainee at INPE - Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais and later became the responsible for the Informatics area at Sindicato Patronal Rural de Jacareí.

Overall, Luiz Borrego has extensive experience in IT management, project leadership, and software development across multiple organizations and sectors.

Luiz Borrego has a Master's degree in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics - Software Engineering from INPE - Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais, which they obtained from 2000 to 2003. Luiz also has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Universidade Mogi das Cruzes, completed from 1997 to 2000. Additionally, they have a technical degree in accounting from Colégio Antonio Afonso, earned from 1994 to 1996. Furthermore, they have obtained certifications such as Professional Scrum Master from Scrum.org in 2014, ITIL V3 from EXIN in 2012, and PMP from PMI São Paulo in 2009.
