Janelle Matthews

Janelle is a co-founder of Gold Coast Search Partners. Before founding GCSP, Janelle spent nine years executing searches for leading investment firms across the US. She has executed Associate through Partner level hiring across fund sizes in private equity, growth equity and venture capital. Janelle’s steady hand, calm demeanor, strategic and organized process management makes her particularly skilled at managing the hectic and complex on cycle Associate recruiting process. Her execution experience combined with her ability to assess talent at investment banks and consulting firms makes her a leader in pre-MBA recruiting. At the post-MBA level, Janelle has executed a variety of mandates from mid-level through Partner. She leverages her detail-oriented nature, buyside firm knowledge, and candidate relationships to compel top investment professionals and provide thoughtful counsel from launch through completion. As an alumna and supporter of Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO), Janelle has significant expertise in helping clients hire and retain diverse talent at all levels.

Early in her career Janelle was an Associate at TPG in the Fundraising Group, where she focused on capital raising and investor relations efforts, and was an Investment Banking Analyst at Lehman Brothers in New York.

Janelle graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Penn State’s Schreyer Honors College with a degree in Political Science and a minor in International Studies. An East Coast native, Janelle splits her time between New York, NY & Oakland, CA with her husband and two girls.
