Charles Mullis has a diverse range of work experience in various roles. Charles has worked as an Advanced EMT- Crew Chief at Gold Cross EMS since 2016 and at Aiken Rescue Inc since 2017. In 2018, they also worked as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician for Aiken County Government. Charles has experience in security roles as well, working as an Armed Nuclear Security Officer/Alarm Station Operator at Southern Nuclear from 2020 to 2022. Charles has also worked as an Armed Court Officer for Sizemore Security International and a Hospital Security Officer for Allied Universal. In addition, Charles has experience in the food service industry, having worked as a Waiter/Cashier at Monterrey's Mexican Restaurant. Before that, they worked as a Correctional Officer for the South Carolina Department of Corrections from 2012 to 2015. Most recently, Charles has joined Securitas Group as an EMT/Shift Supervisor in 2022.

Charles Mullis completed their high school education from North Augusta High School, earning a High School Diploma from 2008 to 2012. After high school, they enrolled in Aiken Technical College in 2012 for a brief period to pursue studies in Emergency Medical Technician.

In terms of additional certifications, Charles obtained several qualifications. In October 2016, they obtained an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician certification from the Georgia Department of Public Health. In January 2016, they acquired another Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) certification from SC DHEC. Furthermore, they obtained a Basic Interior Firefighter (1152) certification from the South Carolina Fire Academy in April 2011.

In December 2020, they acquired the Armed Nuclear Security Officer certification from Southern Nuclear. Additionally, they obtained an Advanced Stroke Life Support certification in October 2018 from Augusta University. Charles also holds a CPR certification from the American Heart Association. Moreover, Charles completed training courses provided by FEMA, including FEMA 100, 200, 700, and 800, as well as FEMA Active Shooter and FEMA Fundamentals of Emergency Management. Lastly, they obtained an International Trauma Life Support certification from ITLS.
