Ted Gies is an experienced accessibility and user experience professional currently serving as Accessibility Manager and Digital Accessibility Lead at Elsevier since May 2001. In this role, Ted manages the Accessibility Program, including leading the Digital Accessibility Team and developing policies, tools, and training programs to integrate accessibility into company culture. Ted has previously held the position of Principal User Experience Specialist, focusing on user-centered design for web applications in Science and Health. Additionally, since January 2021, Ted has been President of Inclusive Access LLC, a consulting firm specializing in accessibility and user experience for Fortune 500 companies. Earlier experience includes working as a Human Factors Engineer at LexisNexis, where responsibilities included usability testing and UI documentation. Ted holds an M.S. in Systems Engineering/Human Computer Interaction and a B.S. in Human Factors Engineering, both from Wright State University.
