Eric Housen

VP, Team Operations at Golden State Warriors

Eric Housen begins his 34th season with the Warriors organization, and his first as vice president, team operations after serving as director of team operations for the previous nine seasons. His current responsibilities include overseeing the team’s equipment needs, travel arrangements, security and kitchen staff.

Housen is in charge of ordering and maintaining all of the team’s basketball related equipment at home and on the road, as well as at the team’s practice facility. He also oversees two full-time assistants and a staff of 10 ball boys for all of the team’s home games.

Along with handling the Warriors’ equipment needs, Housen also coordinates all of the travel and lodging arrangements throughout the season for the team’s 60-person travel party. Additionally, Housen plans the menus and orders all of the meals that are made available to the players and basketball staff.

Housen, 46, began his career with the Warriors as a ball boy during the 1985-86 season as a sixth-grader, serving in that capacity for six years before being promoted to assistant equipment manager in 1991 92. After an additional six years in that role, he took a one-year hiatus in Indiana and returned to Golden State to serve one more season as assistant equipment manager in 1998-99 before being promoted to equipment manager for the 1999-00 campaign. He was the team’s equipment manager for 12 years (1999-2011) prior to being promoted to Director of Team Operations. He resides in Alameda, Calif., with his wife, Codi, and their daughter Sadie Beau, along with their two dogs, Blue and Goose.
