Sam Fankuchen

Sam Fankuchen has a diverse work experience, starting as a Teaching Assistant at Stanford University from 2006 to 2009. They then worked as a Business Mentor at the Craigslist Foundation from 2008 to 2012 and as a Business Development Manager at Penske Motor Group from 2009 to 2012. From there, they became a Managing Director at Applico, a mobile and connected device strategy firm, from 2012 to 2015. Sam then founded and became the CEO of Golden in 2015. In recent years, they have held various roles such as Executive Member & Judge at The Webby Awards, Greater Giving Summit Member at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Board Member at the Volunteer Groups Alliance, Council Member at GivingTuesday, and Editor at Engage.

Sam Fankuchen began their education at Milton Academy and Sage Hill School, where they completed their high school education. Sam then went on to attend Stanford University, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Urban Studies with a focus on Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Sam also attended The London School of Economics and Political Science, where they obtained a Certificate in Management and Entrepreneurship. Sam later returned to Stanford University to pursue a Master of Arts degree in Sociology, specializing in Organizations, Business, and the Economy. Additionally, Sam attended the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design (Stanford d.school) to study Design Thinking.
