Michael T. Cromartie, Ed.D.

Michael T. Cromartie, Ed.D. is an accomplished education leader currently serving as the Superintendent of Goochland County Public Schools since August 2023. With a diverse career spanning various educational roles, Cromartie has successfully managed urban, suburban, and rural school divisions, demonstrating visionary leadership and a strong commitment to fostering transparency and effective communication. Previous positions include Chief Schools Officer for Portsmouth Public Schools, where significant improvements in school accreditation were achieved, and Adjunct Assistant Professor at Old Dominion University, contributing to the advancement of educational leadership in rural Virginia. Cromartie holds a Doctor of Education degree in Educational Policy, Planning, and Leadership from William & Mary, complemented by a Master of Education and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Mass Communications.
