Good Business Lab
Venkatesh Alur is an experienced research associate with a strong background in economics. Currently, Venkatesh holds a position at Good Business Lab since November 2023, following a tenure at Development Solutions Inc. as a research associate from June 2022 to November 2023. Venkatesh also gained valuable experience as a research intern at Good Business Lab from January to April 2022 and at Grassroots Research and Advocacy Movement in July 2021. Venkatesh's academic credentials include a Master of Science in Economics and a Bachelor of Science in Economics, both obtained from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar School of Economics University in Bengaluru, between 2020 and 2022 and 2017 and 2020, respectively.

Good Business Lab
We design, test, and scale programs using rigorous research methods, that align worker wellbeing with business interests. We work across a worker's employment journey from unlocking female labor to closing the skill gap, improving job quality, and improving health conditions. Businesses, because of their scale, hold immense potential to drive social change, while staying true to their principles. However, narratives that reduce the business of business to business, as seen traditionally, foster conventional rather than innovative ways of doing business. For instance, they seclude investment in worker wellbeing programs as mere philanthropy. And while worker wellbeing programs are plenty, they aren’t achieving the scale they should. This is because there is not enough research backing the return on investment they generate for businesses. We are working to solve such problems. We want to break the limited notion of business and help scale impactful worker wellbeing programs, through rigorous research. Because that, we believe, is the future of business – good business.
