Gary Gao, CEM, PMP, SEA has a diverse work experience. In 2013, they worked as an EDF Climate Corps Fellow for The Hillman Group. From 2014 to 2018, they were employed at Lockheed Martin in two roles, first as a Senior Data Analyst/Business Development and then as an Energy Efficiency Project Engineer. From 2018 to 2022, they worked at ENGIE Impact as a Strategic Advisor - Energy and Sustainability and then as a Senior Energy Manager, where they were a client point of contact for sustainability services in energy, water, and resource management and integrated continuous improvement into operations and delivery, as well as providing team training and mentorship. Gary currently works as a Senior Manager for Good.Lab.

Gary Gao holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) from the University of California, Berkeley, where they majored in Environmental Science and minored in Energy and Resource, Sustainability Design. Gary then went on to pursue a Master of Engineering Management and a Master of Environmental Management from Duke University Pratt School of Engineering and Duke University Nicholas School of the Environment, respectively, from 2012 to 2014. Gao also holds certifications as an ISSP Sustainability Associate (ISSP-SA) from Green Business Certification, Inc., a Certified Energy Manager from the Association of Energy Engineers, Global Reporting Initiative from the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), a Project Management Professional from the Project Management Institute, and a LEED Green Associate from the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI).
