Mady Thuyein

Executive Assistant at GoodCall

Mady Thuyein is the Executive Assistant responsible for scheduling, logistics, and communications for Good Calls’ leadership.

Prior to joining Good Call, Mady served as a consultant with the National Asian Pacific Women’s Forum (NAPAWF) to conduct outreach to the Burmese immigrant community in New York and New Jersey. The objective was to organize a discussion group for community members to raise their concerns and collectively generate solutions. The project was a launching pad for other language-based outreach groups and encouraged more Burmese participation through membership, story shuttering for campaigns, direct actions and more.

Mady earned her BA in Psychology from Bard College. Her senior thesis titled “Idioms of Distress in Myanmar” was awarded the Andrew Jay Bernstein ’68 Prize for its originality and quality. Mady received the Center for the Study of Hate Research Award to fund her senior thesis and was also awarded the Spadaccia Family Scholarship in Literature. She is fluent in English and Burmese.
