Jan Vangeel

Jan Vangeel has extensive work experience in various roles related to health, safety, and quality management. Jan is currently working as the Health & Safety Lead for Continental Europe at Goodman since September 2022. Prior to this, Jan worked at BESIX for a significant period from 2009 to 2022, where they held multiple roles including QHSE Manager, Hoofd IDPBW - Chef SIPPT, and HSE Manager. Jan's responsibilities at BESIX included operational management of the QHSE Department, driving awareness and accountability for QHSE performance, assuring compliance with internal and external requirements, and developing collaborative relationships. Before joining BESIX, Jan worked as a self-employed HSE consultant and safety coordinator for various clients, including the Port of Antwerp, DEME, Fluxys, and Rio Tinto Diamonds. Additionally, they have experience as a Multiroom Engineer at Bose Corporation and as a Journalist-Editor for Knack, Het Nieuwsblad, and De Tijd as a freelance journalist.

Jan Vangeel has a diverse education history in various fields. Jan attended Wesleyan University, where they studied Social Psychology. Jan also attended KU Leuven, where they focused on Occupational Safety and Health Technology/Technician. Jan further pursued their education at AP Hogeschool Antwerpen, specializing in Communication, Journalism, and Related Programs. Additionally, they studied Law at Université de Namur and completed their VWO (Voorbereidend Wetenschappelijk Onderwijs) at the European School.

In terms of certifications, Jan has achieved the IOSH Certified Trainer designation from IOSH in January 2020. Jan also holds certifications as a Prevention Advisor Level 1 and Safety Coordinator Level A, both obtained from Prevent.
