Alexa Mader

Alexa Mader has a diverse work experience in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry. Alexa began their career as a Pharmacy Intern at CVS Health in 2014 and remained in that role until 2018. In 2018, Alexa joined Sibley Memorial Hospital as a Pharmacy Practice Resident and later transitioned to the roles of Clinical Staff Pharmacist and Infusion Center Clinical Staff Pharmacist. During their time at Sibley Memorial Hospital, their responsibilities included providing clinical pharmacy services and ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for patients. In 2019, Alexa briefly worked as a Staff Pharmacist at CVS Health before moving on to their current role as a Freelance Writer at GoodRx in 2022. Overall, Alexa has demonstrated a strong commitment to patient care and has gained valuable experience in various pharmacy roles throughout their career.

Alexa Mader's education history begins in 2012, when they attended The University of Georgia. During this time, they focused their studies on Biochemistry and Molecular Biology until 2014. Following that, they continued their education at The University of Georgia, where they obtained a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree with a minor in Public Health, completing their studies in 2018.

In addition to their formal education, Alexa has obtained various certifications. In September 2015, they completed the Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery certification from the American Pharmacist Association. In February 2016, they received certifications in Incident Command System for Healthcare/Hospitals and Mass Casualty Triage Training: SALT (Sort, Assess, Lifesaving interventions, Treatment/Transport) from FEMA and the NATIONAL DISASTER LIFE SUPPORT FOUNDATION, INC., respectively. In May 2016, they obtained the Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED), from the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association. In August 2018, they obtained the Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Moreover, in March 2019, Alexa obtained their Pharmacist License in Maryland and in August 2019, they obtained the Pharmacist License in Washington, DC. Additionally, they obtained the Immunization Certification from the Maryland Board of Pharmacy in August 2019 and the Pharmacy Teaching Certificate from the WASHINGTON METROPOLITAN SOCIETY OF HEALTH-SYSTEM PHARMACISTS in June 2019.
