Ilana Z. has a diverse work experience, starting in 2005 as a Museum Educator & Group Facilitator at the Lower East Side Tenement Museum. Ilana then moved on to roles such as Database Management Assistant at the Whitney Museum of American Art and Public Programs Coordinator at the Museum of Jewish Heritage. In 2008, they transitioned to the healthcare sector as a Health Care Advocate at the Medicare Rights Center and later became a Community Organizing Graduate Intern at AARP. Ilana then took on roles at Seedco, working as a Program Associate and eventually becoming a Program Manager. Ilana continued their career progression through roles at the Children's Aid Society, NYC Mayor's Office of Operations, NYC Mayor's Office of Contract Services, and currently holds the position of Executive Vice President, Donated Goods Retail at Goodwill Industries of Greater New York and Northern New Jersey. Throughout their career, they have gained experience in data analysis, research, financial empowerment, management advisory, and program management.

Ilana Z. attended Wesleyan University and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Classics and Archaeology. Ilana then pursued a Master's degree in Social Enterprise and Administration at Columbia University's School of Social Work. Additionally, they attended the Intercollegiate Center for Classical Studies.
