Matthew Bourlakas currently serves as the President & CEO of Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee, Inc., a position held since July 2013. Prior to this role, Matthew held the title of Chief Operating Officer at Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee from September 2005 to May 2013, and served as Director of Health & Safety Services and Director of Communication at the American Red Cross between 1998 and 2005. Additionally, Matthew was the Director of Communication at Mental Health America from January 1997 to August 1998. Educationally, Matthew earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from The University of the South, followed by a Master of Mass Communication from the University of South Carolina. Currently, Matthew is pursuing Executive Education in Performance Measurement for Effective Management of Nonprofit Organizations at Harvard Business School.

Founded in 1957 as a not-for-profit, Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee's mission is, "Changing lives through education, training and employment." The agency, based in Nashville, Tenn., employs more than 2,000 people and serves 48 counties throughout Middle and West Tennessee. We operate 33 retail stores, including three outlet stores, Career Solutions centers and over 70 donation sites. Goodwill is Middle and West Tennessee's largest employer of people with disabilities with more than 80 percent of our workforce reporting some type of disability or disadvantage.
