Michael McGarvey has a diverse work experience in operations and logistics management. Michael started their career as the VP of Ecommerce Fulfillment - Logistics at shop.theglobe.com in 1998. After that, they worked at National Distribution Centers as a Facility Manager from 2002 to 2005. Michael then joined Performance Team as an Operations Director - Import Logistics from 2005 to 2009. In 2009, they joined Kamino International as a Station Manager - International Freight Forwarding, where they were responsible for air/ocean import, export, customs brokerage, and freight logistics operations. Michael also handled business development and contract negotiation. In 2012, they became the North American Logistics Manager at Helly Hansen until 2014. From 2015 to 2020, they worked as the Director of Operations at Goodwill of the Olympics and Rainier Region. Currently, they hold the position of Senior Director of Operations at Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida.

Michael McGarvey attended Kaiserslautern American High School in Germany from 1978 to 1981, where they received their High School Diploma with a focus on Math, Science, English, and German. Following this, they attended the University of Maryland Global Campus from 1986 to 1990, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. In 2017, they enrolled at the University of Washington Tacoma and studied Non-Profit/Public/Organizational Management. Additionally, they pursued a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management at the University of Maryland Global Campus. The start and end years for this degree are not provided.
