Aamer Mahmood is an accomplished engineering executive with extensive experience in the technology sector. Currently serving as Vice President of Engineering at Google since December 2006, Aamer Mahmood oversees the development and support of Datacenter Infrastructure, including machine learning, computing, storage, networking, and power management. Prior to this role, Aamer Mahmood held the position of Dean of the School of Science/Technology during a sabbatical from November 2003 to August 2006, where responsibilities included establishing an engineering school. Aamer Mahmood also served as Senior Director of Engineering at Cisco Systems from January 1994 to October 2003, leading engineering efforts in the Cable Broadband Business Unit. Earlier career roles include management positions at Amdahl/Key Labs and Loral/Rolm-Milspec Computers, as well as academic positions at Stanford University and University of Engineering & Technology. Aamer Mahmood earned a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, supported by an MSc from the same institution and a BSc from the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore.
