Julian Hyde

Julian Hyde is a Senior Staff Software Engineer at Google, with a career spanning over two decades in software development and architecture. As the creator of the Apache Calcite project and a PMC member of multiple projects including Arrow and Drill at The Apache Software Foundation, Julian has significantly contributed to the advancement of database and data management technologies. Previous roles include architect positions at Looker and Hortonworks, where Julian played a key role in integrating Calcite into projects like Apache Hive and Apache Phoenix. Notably, Julian founded the Mondrian OLAP engine and served as an evangelist for its widespread adoption. Educational credentials include a BA in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge.
