Martin Ortlieb is an experienced User Experience professional with a diverse background spanning over two decades in various leadership and research roles. At Sapient, Martin served as a Senior Associate User Experience, focusing on qualitative and quantitative research for high-profile digital solutions. Subsequently, Martin was the Associate Director for Innovation and Ethnography at GfK, leading cross-functional research for international clients. As Head of Design Research at Yahoo Europe, responsibilities included ensuring product quality across multiple markets. Martin’s tenure at Google began as the first User Experience Researcher in a non-English-speaking office, evolving into a leadership role in Privacy tools and continuing as a User Experience Researcher focused on improving the work experience for knowledge workers. More recently, Martin contributed as Director of User Centred Practices at Steelcase, fostering user-focused design in office environments. Martin earned a PhD in Social Anthropology from Alliance Manchester Business School.
