Software Engineer - Chrome Privacy

Tom Van Goethem is a security researcher at DistriNet Research Unit @KU Leuven since August 2013, focusing on side-channel attacks, large-scale security evaluations, and enhancing online privacy for web users. Van Goethem has previous experience as a security engineer at Mozilla, where responsibilities included design reviews and security testing of browser features, and as a visiting researcher at Stony Brook University and New York University Abu Dhabi, engaging in research on search engine poisoning and novel remote timing attacks, respectively. Currently, as a software engineer for Chrome Privacy at Google, Van Goethem develops privacy controls and conducts privacy reviews for new Open Web Platform features. Educational qualifications include a Professional Bachelor from Katholieke Hogeschool 'Sint-Lieven' and a Master's degree from KU Leuven.
