Ian Sweedler

Associate General Counsel at Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation

Before joining the foundation, Ian was with the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM), the state’s stem cell research funding agency, where he provided legal counsel across the agency’s programs and functions. Prior to CIRM, he practiced for more than 15 years as a litigator for the California Attorney General’s Office and at private law firms in San Francisco and Washington, DC.

Ian received his bachelor’s degree in philosophy from the University of Chicago and his law degree from George Washington University. He has volunteered for bar associations and nonprofit organizations, travels when he can, and continues his efforts to become a competent glassblower.
