Your role

This position focuses on generating marketing-sourced pipeline revenue for our clients.

You’ll need to be able to shift from high-level consulting while leading client-facing workshops and meetings, to tactical execution when setting up paid social and search campaigns or diving deep into reporting to let data guide your decision-making. Throughout it all, it’s important to never lose sight of marketing fundamentals.

Internally, you’re the embodiment of our “results” core value. You guide and lead the team in activities that will help our clients achieve their revenue goals.

What that looks like:

  • Leading discovery workshops with potential clients, and developing months-long marketing road maps that will help them achieve their revenue goals

  • Providing guidance and giving feedback to creative teams that result in ads, landing pages and experiences that drive conversions and, ultimately, pipeline revenue

  • Diving deep into the data, identifying key insights that will guide creative and strategic decisions; then reporting those insights in a digestible manner to clients

  • Seamlessly moving from strategic (e.g., consulting clients on workshops) to tactical (e.g., setting up campaigns) levels of thinking

  • Reading, reading, reading; from new marketing books to updates to the platforms we use, you’re constantly bettering yourself by seeking out new knowledge

  • Seeking smart solutions to the myriad problems and roadblocks that inevitably come up in any marketing program

  • Constantly pushing the team to consider decisions strategically with an eye toward results: What path is best suited to help our clients achieve their revenue goals?

  • Some travel is possible

Within the Strategy department, you’ll work closely with the Strategy Director and Senior Strategists to build and refine our demand generation playbook. You’ll also work to resolve issues, define processes and better your teammates.

What that looks like:

  • Meeting weekly as a department to identify and work through issues

  • Diving into professional development opportunities

  • Sharing wins and challenges with the team

  • Owning responsibilities for the department

  • Additional duties as needed

Putting your role into perspective

Once a potential client has expressed interest in working with Gorilla, you will lead our Road Map discovery process alongside the Strategy Director. This will involve leading a half-day Discovery Workshop with the client’s leadership team to deepen our understanding of their business. Then you’ll supplement what you learned with research, and craft a documented action plan containing all the marketing activities you recommend to help them achieve their revenue goals. You’ll then lead the team in executing your plan and, most importantly, reaching the client’s goals.

Within three months you’ll...

  • Have finished your onboarding and training

  • Learn how to use our tech stack

  • Understand our campaign methodology

  • Have met with all department directors

  • Lead approximately four clients

  • Attend monthly State of Gorilla meetings

  • Gain an understanding of Gorilla’s workflow

  • Set goals, professional and personal, for the rest of your year

Within six months you’ll…

  • Own a full portfolio of client work

  • Have earned the trust of your team as a leader on your accounts

  • Support strategic plan development to retain your clients

  • Have built lasting relationships with your clients and fellow Gorillas

  • Feel comfortable in owning your role and work

Within one year you’ll…

  • Be an expert in your role

The person

  • Has a minimum of one year of experience working in a strategic marketing role

  • Has experience running demand generation campaigns

  • Knows how to develop full-scale marketing programs leveraging digital channels to drive leads and, ultimately, revenue

  • Isn’t afraid of collaborating with C-level executives to understand the client’s business, to develop marketing strategies, to fix problems as they come up and to ensure the leadership team understands the impact of our efforts

  • Has a high level of tenacity and can have tough conversations with clients and team members

  • Is a confident multitasker and can evaluate priorities with an attention to detail

  • Is a motivated self-starter who may not always have all of the information to get the job done, but will figure it out

  • Has an analytical mind, and isn’t afraid of uncovering and interpreting data (from HubSpot, Salesforce, Analytics and more) to reveal insights that drive decision-making

  • Is empathetic and understanding in interactions with clients and internal team members and communicates in a way that both can understand
