Tobias Schmieg has extensive experience in the automotive industry, with a focus on electric vehicles and battery technology. Tobias is currently working as the Vice President of Product Development at Gotion Inc., where they are responsible for accelerating the globalization of Gotion's battery technology and leading project management, product design, sales, and marketing for global EV customers. Prior to this role, they served as the Head of Global EV Business Unit at Gotion Inc., where they developed battery system solutions for various EV applications and implemented localization strategies leveraging Gotion's expertise and vertically integrated battery materials supply chain.
Before joining Gotion Inc., Tobias worked at BMW Group, where they held several roles, including Lead System Architect for New Generation HV-Batteries and Lead Validation Engineer. Tobias also participated in the Future Talents Program "Speed-Up" at BMW Group, gaining valuable experience and skills. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated expertise in engineering, validation, and system architecture, particularly in the field of electric vehicles.
Tobias Schmieg completed their Bachelor of Engineering in Mechatronics at Hochschule Esslingen - University of Applied Sciences from 2010 to 2014. Tobias then pursued a Master of Science in Systems Engineering at Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences from 2017 to 2019. In 2013, Tobias also took part in an exchange semester at the National University of Singapore, although no specific degree was mentioned for this period.
