Jim Laurent has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Jim started their career as a Sales Project Manager at RM Education, where they managed the bid submission process for ICT installations in UK schools. Jim then became a Project Manager, leading large IT installations in UK secondary schools.
Jim then moved on to work at Pearson as a Global Product Strategy Associate, where they played a key role in developing and maintaining the global product strategy and roadmap. Jim also worked as a Product & Project Manager, overseeing vocational and employability solutions and managing a $1 billion portfolio. At Pearson, they were involved in various projects, including establishing a vocational skills training program for Syrian refugees and developing an Africa-focused primary school literacy app.
After their time at Pearson, Jim joined Mwabu as a Product Portfolio Manager, responsible for designing and building the company's portfolio of products in education, healthcare, and conservation. Jim also served as the Head of Bespoke Product, managing Mwabu's portfolio of bespoke e-learning clients and implementing blended e-learning solutions for rural healthcare workers in Zambia.
Jim then joined Moringa School as a Product Manager before being promoted to the Head of Product. Jim was responsible for the organization's product strategy and roadmap and led a project to select and onboard FlatIron school as curriculum and content partners.
In their most recent role at Happence, Jim worked as a Product Manager for the company's Executive Leadership and Resilience Programme. Jim designed a new digital experience for corporate C-suite and senior managers, integrating over 25 clinical assessments and consultations into the program.
Currently, Jim is working as a Project Manager at Governance.com.
Jim Laurent graduated from the University of Leeds with a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and Economics, which they obtained from 2006 to 2010. Jim later pursued their interest in Fine Art: Painting and attended the Schule für Bildende Kunst und Gestaltung from 2018 to 2019. In terms of additional certifications, Jim Laurent obtained the Certified Product Lifecycle Coach certification from Pearson in September 2015, and the Prince2 Practitioner certification from APMG International in January 2012.
