Aleya Trott Akey is an experienced professional with a diverse background in public service and crisis intervention. Currently serving as the Manager of the Road Safety Unit at BC Public Service since September 2022, Aleya has also been a Crisis Response Worker in Victim Services with the Vancouver Police Department since April 2013. Previous roles include Executive Director at the West End-Coal Harbour Community Policing Centre and Operations Supervisor at both the Kitsilano Fairview and Granville Community Policing Centres. Aleya's experience extends to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police as a Crisis Intervention Worker and as an Interim Executive Director at the Kerrisdale Oakridge Marpole Community Policing Centre. Aleya’s educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Sociology from the University of Windsor, along with certificates in Business Management from Simon Fraser University and Peer Counselling from The University of British Columbia.
