German Villegas is a seasoned professional in the diamond industry, currently serving as the Manager of Diamonds Secondary Industry for the Government of Northwest Territories since November 2020. Prior to this role, German held various positions at Rio Tinto from December 2010 to November 2020, including Superintendent of the Product Splitting Facility, where responsibilities included overseeing the efficient operation of diamond processing and implementing business improvement strategies. Earlier experience includes a significant tenure at Diavik Diamond Mines Inc., where German managed metallurgical processes and coordinated pre-feasibility and feasibility studies for the Small Diamonds Project. German is a Six Sigma Black Belt and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, further enhancing expertise in project management and process optimization.
