Jacob Putnam

Jacob Putnam has a diverse work experience in the field of actuarial analysis. Jacob is currently working at GovInvest as the Actuarial Team Lead, a position they have held since March 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Actuarial Analyst at GovInvest from February 2020 to March 2022. Before joining GovInvest, Jacob worked at G.S. Curran & Co. as a Senior Actuarial Analyst for six years, starting in January 2014 and ending in February 2020. Jacob also gained experience at Lynchval Systems Worldwide Inc as a Senior Actuarial Analyst from November 2012 to January 2014. Jacob started their career at The Segal Company, where they worked as a Senior Actuarial Analyst from March 2006 to November 2012. During this time, they were involved in various tasks such as assisting in negotiations with a local pilots' union, reviewing junior analysts' work on data analysis and actuarial valuations, and programming and running actuarial valuations for large multiemployer pension and post-retiree welfare plans. Before that, Jacob worked at Lynchval Systems Worldwide Inc as an Actuarial Analyst, where they programmed and ran actuarial valuations for various post-retiree medical and pension plans and participated in the implementation of new GASB 43 and 45 regulations. Jacob's earliest experience was at Watson Wyatt, where they worked as an Actuarial Analyst. At Watson Wyatt, they performed benefit calculations, prepared benefit statements, redesigned pension plans, and processed annual actuarial valuations while also carrying out detailed data and asset reconciliation. Overall, Jacob has a strong background in actuarial analysis, with experiences in various companies and roles throughout their career.

Jacob Putnam attended Shelley High School from 1988 to 1991, where they obtained their High School Diploma. Jacob then enrolled in Brigham Young University - Idaho from 1994 to 1996, earning an Associate's degree in Math. Afterwards, Jacob attended Utah State University from 1996 to 1998, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Statistics.
